I started poking around on the web and found out there's an enormous pit of water held by a dam (also known as a reservoir) nestled in the Hollywood hills, not too far from me. Lake Hollywood they call it, and it's awesome!
There's a park (which, after I found it, I realized that I'd actually been to it before with Danielle years ago when I first moved here, but I'd never really explored the area beyond the park). We had found it quite by accident when we were looking for a good view of the Hollywood sign-yes we were those people posing for pics in front of those famous letters, although back then I did not have a smart phone.. and there was no Instagram.
Anyway I found the park, took some awesome photos, then I managed to find the trail that leads around the reservoir and ultimately to the dam which you can actually stand on top of.. It's like a 5 mile walk all around and so I didn't have to time make it to the dam, unfortunately, and when i tried to drive and find the dam, I did not succeed... so this weekend I may be playing a little game I like to call "find the dam"
Anywho the park is lovely, it gives a super view of the Hollywood sign and the walking trail around the reservoir is splendidly uncrowded and peaceful. It's a great spot to take some sunset photos.
I'm still editing some of the photos, so the ones here in the blog are UN-retouched or enhanced.
