Runyon Canyon!!!!

Last weekend I wanted to go for a hike through one of my fave spots in Cali-Runyon Canyon. And boy-is my cardio in need of a serious overhaul!!! Haha.. it was awesome and the weather was great- but my god I've got to get my butt back on a treadmill-stat. The canyon provides great views of the city scape of Hollywood, the Hollywood sign, and of the Griffith Observatory. It's got 3 awesome trails- and it's even got some off the trail action for people who are super adventurous. I love being outdoors, although I must admit-about 70% of the time in Runyon I am keeping a watchful eye for snakes-ick.. I still feel so much better exploring. Living in Los Angeles is tough. There are people EVERYWHERE and it's hard to just be alone-unless you're locked away in your apartment. Runyon is in the heart of Hollywood-but it's far removed from all those tourists clogging up the boulevard. It's awesome. It's one of the most peaceful places I've found here, and I miss living in Hollywood because of Runyon Canyon. It was great to be within walking distance of it. Here are a few shots i took with my iphone. Found this really creepy (but kinda cool) rock formation someone put together. And the other pic is of a hill I was contemplating climbing...but then decided that my new balances weren't quite the right shoe for an almost 90 degree hill climb..... the other is a view of Hollywood from the top of one of the "easier" trails (AKA the trail that reminded me I clearly need more cardio)
